Beautification watch Awards
Beautification Watch Awards are KAB’s way of saying “thank you” to businesses and residents in Akron who take pride in their properties, and keep their properties clean and beautified.
Recipients of the awards are nominated by volunteers. Volunteers drive an assigned route at their leisure during the month of July and nominate the homes and businesses that they feel meet the criteria to be nominated.
To be nominated for a Beautification Watch Award, property is judged on the following criteria: litter free, well-maintained with flowers, shrubs and/or trees, free of weeds, and stand out from its surroundings.
There are 45 routes assigned to volunteers that cover all 10 wards of the city and take 3-5 hours to complete.
Anyone is welcome to nominate a property that they think is deserving of an award. Nominations are taken throughout the month of July by calling Keep Akron Beautiful at 330-375-2116 or emailing [email protected]. Nominations are taken until August 1st. To become a volunteer, email Emma.
Since 1981, the Keep Akron Beautiful Beautification Watch Award program has been thanking property owners for their outstanding efforts and encouraging all to join in.
Making an effort to beauty personal property results in lower rates of littering behavior from others, and in turn, increases property values. In 2023, 3,807 residents and 188 business in Akron received an award.
THANK YOU FOR TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR PROPERTY!
