Become a Litter Ambassador
The City of Akron / Keep Akron Beautiful are looking for Litter Ambassadors – caring Akronites who distribute garbage bags to neighbors for litter pickups and guide them in properly disposing of the trash. Ambassadors should be willing to volunteer at least four hours from spring- fall to help keep our neighborhoods, parks and waterways clean for everyone to enjoy!
Keep Akron Beautiful will provide trash bags, litter grabbers, gloves and vests that identify volunteers as Litter Ambassadors.

We need Litter Ambassadors in several neighborhoods and parks throughout the city. If you have a location you want to adopt and maintain, that is great! If you need some help to select a site, please contact Keep Akron Beautiful at [email protected].

We should all care for our local environment, but we know that some go above and beyond. While juggling work, family and life, people care for the environment not just on their own doorstep but in their neighborhoods too.
We are looking for people, with infectious enthusiasm and a passion for action, to become a Litter Ambassador in their ward, to help us shape the future of a litter-free Akron.
Whether you already litter pick for an hour a day or for an hour a month, if you are passionate about the fight against litter, making a difference on your own doorstep and spreading the message further, this could be the opportunity for you!
You will need to lead an existing litter removal group in your community and host regular litter pickup events, encouraging others to love where they live and make tangible improvements to your neighborhood.
Keep Akron Beautiful will support you to build on your existing activities and make a greater impact as part of a network of Litter Ambassadors.
