Clean Up Akron Month (CUAM)
Clean Up Akron Month is KAB’s largest volunteer effort of the year. Every April, thousands of volunteers from all around the area take the initiative to get involved and help clean up their city. After the long winter, there is especially a need for litter cleanup and beautification.
These volunteers make a huge difference in their community by removing many, many tons of litter from their local streets, parks, and schools. KAB provides the supplies and trash pickup for these projects. This is in accordance with Keep America Beautiful’s annual Great America Cleanup – the nation’s largest annual community improvement program. Sign up today to participate in one of our community cleanups or hold your own!
Clean Up Akron Month would not be possible without the generous support of the Ohio EPA!

Volunteers who participated in Clean Up Akron Month were able to attend Keep Akron Beautiful’s annual Super Saturday Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on April 27, 2019 at the Akron Zoo. Volunteers received free zoo admission and picnic lunch.
We are proud that we can express our gratitude and appreciation to our volunteers with a free picnic through the generosity of our local sponsors, including: Acme Fresh Markets, Akron Zoological Park, City of Akron, D-A Specialty Co. Inc., Main Street Gourmet, Marc’s, House of LaRose, Keep Akron Beautiful Board of Directors, Schwebel’s Bakery, Sully’s Party Rental, Pepsi-Cola, and Waste Management of Ohio.
None of this could have been possible if it were not for our national sponsors who so generously donated the supplies to make this litter cleanup possible: Dow, The Glad Products Company, Lowe’s, Niagara Bottling and ReadyRefresh by Nestlé. Clean Up Akron Month is Keep Akron Beautiful’s largest public awareness event; we look forward to this spring initiative every year as it fulfills our mission to “Improve Akron’s quality of life through beautification and responsible environmental management.
