March 19, 2018 - Dreamscape Raffle Ends with 2017 Makeover
Summary: Keep Akron Beautiful’s 14-yr. front- or back-yard makeover raffle comes to an end. Vendor partner items will now be available for bid at the agency’s August fundraising event, Green the Scene.

 

January 29, 2018 -  Keep Akron Beautiful Awards Student Science Projects

Summary: A sponsor judge of the Akron Public Schools’ Science, Math, and Technology Expo 2018, Keep Akron Beautiful awarded four students for their environmental projects. The awarded experiments involved making and testing biodegradable plastic, a window airflow apparatus, a natural purification system and a solar oven.

September 26, 2017- Keep Akron Beautiful Honors Former Flowerscape Director, Polly Kaczmarek

Summary: KAB's first Flowerscape Director, now retired, is honored through a naming dedication of well-known garden at Alexander Park, located off of West Market Street.

 

September 7, 2017- Two West Akron Women Honored as Volunteers-of-the-Year

Summary: Adopt-A-Site volunteers Dorothy Francis and Sylvia Martin of West Akron were honored by Keep Akron Beautiful at Green the Scene, the agency's fundraiser party.

  

 August 23, 2017- Keep Akron Beautiful receives 2017 Lowes Community Partner Grant

Summary: Keep Akron Beautiful recieves $10,000 to revitalize the Elaine Evans Memorial Children's Garden during the fall of 2017. The goal of this project will be to reduce illegal dumping and other crimes in the Summit Lake Community.


May 24, 2017- St. Mary School Crowned Ohio State Recycle-Bowl Champion

Summary: For the first time in Keep Akron Beautiful history, an Akron school was recognized nationally for their accomplishments in the 2016 Recycle-Bowl.
