Keep Akron Beautiful wanted to share some information from the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District. You can help restore Ohio’s native vegetation, and improve the quality of our lakes and streams by including a Native Plant Garden as part of your landscaping plan.

The Summit Soil and Water Conservation District is offering several different types of native plant kits for sale this spring. Each kit contains 38 native plant plugs and costs $100.00. There are 5 types of kits available, with 10-12 varieties of native plants in each kit. See the order form for more details.

The Summit SWCD will accept orders for the native plants anytime up until March 29, 2013. Payment must accompany the order. They cannot accept credit cards. If you are paying cash, please bring the correct amount to their office. Please do not mail cash. No need to pick your plant kit up! The native plant kits will be shipped to your individual addresses, beginning early May 2013. There is no additional charge for shipping.
